Only the second week of English 10A. This week we discussed a lot to do with the salem witch trials. How these people, some innocent, were accused of being witches and were tortured to prove that they were. The ways to prove it were cruel and unusual. Pricking small red dots that were supposed to resemble the devils mark with a silver needle, tieing the people to rocks and putting them in water and if they floated they were witches. Putting them in water usually just killed the person anyways because they had to make sure, by time they thought that the person wasn't a witch they drowned. When on this unit I really thought about how people would never do that kind of stuff but it's just that what we do today doesn't seem that extreme as what was done back then. Along with this week we started the crucible movie. Over the rest of the week Monday , Wednesday, and Friday we did SSR. I have actually been really enjoying the book I picked. Contaminated. And I am going to continue to read it and hopefully finish it. I am learning to not dislike English class as much. More fun activity like things have been done and I enjoy that.
